The kick-off meeting of the European project “INDUPYMES 4.0: DIGITAL FACTORY FOR INDUSTRIAL SMES” took place last June 11, belonging to the 2nd Call of the cooperation programme Interreg V-A Spain-Portugal (POCTEP), at the FADA-CATEC facilities in Seville.

The POCTEP Cross-Border Cooperation Program aims to improve the participation of the business fabric in innovation processes and in the R&D activities closest to the market. Specifically, the objective of the project is to help SMEs in the automotive, naval and aerospace sectors, as well as their supply chain, to integrate themselves into the new concept of digital factory. All this through knowledge transfer and the use of existing R&D infrastructures.

The consortium of this project is composed of a total of 11 partners belonging to the Alentejo (Portugal) and Andalusia (Spain) regions and is led by FADA-CATEC. The rest of the partners participating in the project are: the Associação Portuguesa para o Clúster das Industrias Aeronáutica do Espaço e da Defesa (AEDCP), Innovation and Development Agency of Andalusia (IDEA Agency), the Agência de Desenvolvimento do Alentejo (ADRAL), the Engenharia e Desenvolvimento Center (CEIIA), the Official Chamber of Commerce of Seville, the Metal Entrepreneurs Federation (FEDEME), Diseño y automatización Ningenia, the Science and Technology Park of Alentejo (PACT), the University of Évora and the University of Seville.

The INDUPYMES 4.0 project is co-funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) under the INTERREG VA Spain-Portugal (POCTEP) 2014-2020 cooperation programme.
