A group of students of the course “Drones today: regulations, market and uses”, of the International University of Andalusia (UNIA), have visited the ATLAS Experimental Flight Center, boosted by the Andalusian Foundation for Aerospace Development (FADA), where they could see its facilities, and perform flight tests with several unmanned systems (UAS).

The students were welcomed by the director of ATLAS, Anastasio Sánchez, who explained the functioning and the main activities of this center designed and prepared for this type of flight tests with a runway 600 meters long. For its part, the course director, Alfonso García-Ferrer, highlighted in the visit main R&D projects that FADA-CATEC is developing with drones, which may allow the use of several coordinated UAS or its application in other fields such as agriculture.

During the visit in ATLAS, students could learn first-hand the operation of the drones and taking photos from the air, as well as test some devices developed in the workshop of the course. Finally, students could analyze the flight process developed in the practical session.
