The ATLAS Center is recognised with the award “Jaén Única” for it contribution to the economic develop in Jaén province

The award, granted by the newspaper “Jaén”, it was collected by the president of FADA, Antonio Galán, who thanked the award and all the companies and institutions which have supported the implementation of ATLAS

Our Center of Experimental Flights ATLAS has been distinguished with the award “Jaén Única”, in the category “Impulso Económico”, for it contribution to the developing in the province of Jaén, particulary in the municipal area of Villacarrillo and its surroundings, where it is located. These awards are given annually by Diario Jaén with the aim of recognise people, companies or entities which have contributed to the economic, social or cultural develop in Jaén province.

The award was received by President of FADA, Antonio Galán, in the event held on 23 March at the Theatre Cervantes in Linares, where the other award-winnings also participated. In its speech, the President of FADA thanked to Diario Jaén for the recognition of the pioneering work of ATLAS, as flight test center for aircrafts and unmanned systems unique in Spain. He also especially thanked all t he people, professionals and public and private institutions that have supported this initiative and have made possible it implementation, in particular, to the Junta de Andalucía.

ATLAS, working since March of 2014, offers to the International community the first permanent technologic facilities to safely perform testing, simulations and validation of technologies applicable to UAS and to the air traffic management (ATM). Among its facilities highlight its runways, a building with control tower and radar, two hangars for the parking and maintenance of airplanes and a reserve of segregated airspace over 1,000 Km2 .

All this makes it in an unique space in Europe for the realization of testing and flights with UAS/RPAS, in which different International and national companies have been working and making testing and flights.
