The Centre receives the visit of outstanding institutional representatives interested in its technological infrastructures

The Embassy of Malaysia in Spain and the Government’s sub-Delegation in Seville, the latest entities to come around to meet in situ CATEC’s pioneering RD services

The Centre receives the visit of outstanding institutional representatives interested in its technological infrastructures
One of the CATEC’s missions is to release the knowledge and the development of new aerospace Technologies, since it is a technological service at the aerospace industry’s disposal. This activity is boosted through a variety of professional, academic and social visits and meetings. In the course of the last few weeks, our Centre has been visited by certain institutions including the Academia which are strengthening this RD releasing task as well as presenting its infrastructures and pioneering services at the aerospace sphere.

Like this, last 9th April, CATEC had the visit of the new Government’s sub-Delegated in Seville, Felisa Panadero Ruz, who came around to know our Centre’s activity in pursuit of technological aerospace development as well as some of its state-of-the-art scientific equipment and facilities.

On the other side, CATEC’s intense research and development activity is also appealing the attention of other outstanding international institutions, who are considering CATEC for cooperative common projects. The embassy of Malaysia in Spain was the latest institution which showed this interest with a visit carried out on the last 3 May when the also had a meeting with CATEC’s general director, Juan Pedro Vela.

The ambassador, Mr. Dato’ Ilankovan Kolandavelu; the Malaysian Investment and Development Authority, MIDAS' director for the French and Spanish area, Mrs. Balkish Mohd Yashin; and the Embassy’s communication responsible, Mr. Enrique Christen were leading the delegation. During this meeting, the Malaysian delegation could know first hand CATEC’s RD services, while it also took advantage of the occasion to present its aerospace capabilities and development in its country in the last few years.

Finally, CATEC was also visited by some students from the University of Seville last 2 and 22 May. The first visit was composed by a group of 20 students from the Industrial Engineering speciality from the School of Engineering, learning Experimental Structures Analysis and who visited the CATEC’s Area of Materials and Processes. By its hand, a group of students from the Technical School of Engineering participated on the second visit who knew as well some of the CATEC’s capabilities and activities.
